You can find all things FFEEL-related here.
I’m posting this a day ahead of the FFEEL session at the club.
We will review three boards in depth (see the worksheet linked below) but the main focus of this week’s session will be on replaying as many of Tuesday’s boards as we can. We are expecting one member of our crew to be absent, so the three of us will play the boards in a teaching table on BBO. If you haven’t reviewed and replayed hands that way, give it a try. You get the benefit of bid explanations on the BBO screen, and you can “undo” bad plays.
I have not produced new chapters of the FFEEL Convention book lately because our group’s play at the club has mandated that Thursday study sessions be devoted to review and practice of just opening bids and responder bids. We are getting the first round of bidding so disastrously wrong in live play that studying later rounds of bidding and adding in conventions would be meaningless and (fatally in a FFEEL session where fun comes first) not fun.
And so, we are sticking to the most basic of basic bids until we demonstrate some understanding. This may not sound like fun to folks who are quick studies, but I find that “my” newbies appreciate the review and we enjoy ourselves a lot.
